02:30 PM: The key issues in Delhi include massive air pollution which has become a national concern, electricity and water charges and the compromised law and order situation in the city. 1:30 PM: BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, the son of former Delhi chief minister the late Sahib Singh Verma is hoping to retain West Delhi seat. Hailing from the Jat community and with an over-arching appeal even amongst the Sikh population in his constituency (due to his father’s help to the Sikh riot victims in 1984), Parvesh Verma – who has used his entire MPLAD fund to the development of his constituency. As per early trends, he will beat Congress’ Mahabal Mishra again, as well as AAP’s Balbir Singh Jakhar.
1:05 PM: Congress’ senior leader Sheila Dikshit, is on the second spot behind BJP’s Manoj Tiwari, by a margin of 29,797 votes in North East Delhi. While the former MP J P Agarwal, pitted against Vardhan in Chandni Chowk constituency, was trailing by 8,764 votes. PTI reported, Agarwal has alleged that strongrooms were opened in absence of his counting agents.
12:30 PM: Counting is underway for all seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi to decide the fate of 164 candidates, who contested the Lok Sabha elections here on May 12. Over 1.43 crore people were eligible to vote in the polls in Delhi, out of which 60.21 per cent had exercised their franchise.
The East Delhi constituency is dotted with un-authorized colonies, slums along the Yamuna and it is mainly home to Purvanchali migrants, Dalits and Muslims. In this Lok Sabha seat, former cricketer Gautam Gambhir is hoping to defeat AAP’s Aatishi and Congress’ Arvinder Singh Lovely.
12:10 PM: The sitting New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi was ahead of Congress’ Ajay Maken by a margin of 10,486 votes. Meanwhile, in the North West Delhi, saffron party’s Hans Raj Hans was ahead of AAP’s Gagan Singh by 46,379 votes. PTI reported, the AAP candidate from the North East Delhi, Dilip Pandey told reporters that people to not make any judgement on the basis of initial trends, as “it will not be apt”.
11:45 AM: As per the early trends the BJP is leading in all seven Lok Sabha seats of the national capital. Meanwhile, the Congress is trailing in five constituencies and the AAP in two seats.
Debutant cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir, Union minister Harsh Vardhan and sitting lawmaker Manoj Tiwari of the Bharatiya Janata Party were among early gainers of the party.

10:15 AM: In the early trends from North East Delhi constituency, the BJP’s Manoj Tiwari is leading with 4,678 votes. The Congress’ Sheila Dixit is at 1,647 votes followed by the Aam Aadmi Party’s Dilip Pandey 944 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party’s Rajveer with 253 votes.
