The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra has continued its performance of the 2014 Lok Sabha election. As of 11:20 am, according to the Election Commission the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance was leading in all six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai.
Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar is lagging by over 90,000 votes in Mumbai North. Urmila Matondkar is contesting the Lok Sabha election on a Congress ticket. BJP’s Gopal Shetty, he r rival has secured nearly 1.3 lakh votes so far.
In Mumbai South, Shiv Sena leader Arvind Ganpat Sawant is leading over Congress candidate Deora Milind Murli by 23,807 votes.
In Mumbai North Central, BJP’s Poonam Mahajan is leading by nearly 42,000 votes against Congress’s Priya Dutt.
The BJP is also leading in Mumbai North East where its candidate Manoj Kotak is leading by 86,900 votes.
In Mumbai North West, Gajanan Kirtikar of the Shiv Sena is leading by 36,674 votes over Congress’s Sanjay Nirupam, former president of Mumbai Congress.
The sixth seat in Mumbai is Mumbai South Central. Here Shiv Sena’s Rahul Ramesh Shewale is lading by more than 38,000 votes.
Overall, the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance is leading in 41seats while the Congress is leading in 6 seats and others in one.
Maharashtra sends 48 MPs to the Lok Sabha.
