Last Phase of Telangana rural body elections starts, polling in Naxal-influenced zones to finish at 4 pm

Hyderabad: The third and last period of surveying for Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) decisions in Telangana got in progress Tuesday.

The surveying started at 7 am and will proceed till 5 pm, aside from in Left Wing Extremism (LWE)- influenced territories, where it will finish up an hour ahead of schedule at 4 pm, State Election Commission said.

The decision is held for 161 ZPTCs, and 741 hopefuls are in the quarrel. Authorities said surveying is being held for 1708 MPTCs, with 5726 applicants.

The Commission a month ago discharged the decision plan for 5,817 MPTCs and 539 ZPTCs. The primary stage and second stage were hung on 6 and 10 May, individually.

Around 1.56 crore voters are qualified to practice their establishment in the decisions to two upper levels of neighborhood bodies. The races are being held through poll and checking would be hung on 27 May, authorities had prior said.

After the ZPTC and MPTC surveys, Mandal Praja Parishad and Zilla Praja Parishad individuals will be chosen. The Assembly decisions were held in December 2018 and the Panchayat surveys in January this year. 17 seats to the Lok Sabha race in the state were held in a solitary stage on 11 April.
