Jaipur: Former leader Manmohan Singh will record his designation papers for the bypoll to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.

“The gathering has chosen to name previous PM Manmohan Singh from the state and he will record four arrangements of assignments here on Tuesday,” Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress president Sachin Pilot said.

The seat got empty after the demise of BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Madan Lal Saini in June. Rajasthan has 10 Rajya Sabha seats.

The Congress has the dominant part in the state get together and Singh (86) is probably going to win the bypoll.

The Rajasthan get together has 200 seats, two of which are empty.

The Congress has 100 MLAs and its collusion accomplice Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has one seat, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 72, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) 6, Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP), CPI (M) and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) have two seats each.

Thirteen MLAs are independents and two seats are empty.

The decision Congress in the state likewise appreciates the help of 12 out of the 13 independents and the BSP administrators.

Veteran Congress pioneer Manmohan Singh was an individual from the Upper House of Parliament from Assam for right around three decades.

He was a Rajya Sabha part for five back to back terms from 1991 to 2019 and the nation’s head administrator for two sequential terms from 2004 to 2014.

Examination of papers will be done on August 16.

The last date for the withdrawal of assignments is August 19. The surveying will be hung on August 26 while the tallying of votes will occur around the same time at 5 pm.
