N Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP loses big in Andhra Pradesh elections; may resign as CM by evening

Amravati: It’s curtains for N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh, at least for the next five years.

As votes were counted in Andhra Pradesh for Assembly as well as Lok Sabha Elections, YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress Party emerged as the clear winner.

As per official Election Commission trends available at 12:50 pm, YSRCP was leading in 149 Assembly constituencies out of the total 175 seats. The TDP was ahead in just 25 seats.

In the Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha Election results, YSRCP was leading in 23 seats whle the TDP was ahead in just two.

s trends trickled in, reports came that Naidu, the current CM of Andhra Pradesh, could tender his resignation as soon as this evening.

Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, YSRCP leader, announced that YS Jaganmohan Reddy will take oath as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on May 30.

It may be recalled that Naidu has quit the ruling NDA last year over the demand for speacial status to Andhra Pradesh.

He had also become an interlocutor for the opposition to bring together different regional leaders to take on the BJP.
