‘Prove me wrong’: KTR takes dig at techies, challenges them to cast vote

HYDERABAD: TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday charged IT employees of being indifferent to elections  and not turning up to vote. “Prove me wrong. Indeed this is a dig at you,” he said at an election meeting organised to introduce TRS party candidates from Chevella and Malkajgiri constituency.

KTR started the interaction by saying that educated people don’t take much interest in showing up at polling booths to cast votes. “People who turn up during my roadshow are the ones who cast vote,” he said.
KTR said only regional parties in their respective states would be able to get the demands fulfilled from the Centre. “MPs of national parties cannot press for the demands as they would have to listen to the party high command. Their voices will be drowned,” he said.
In response to a question on the federal front, he said it is a workable idea. KTR also said that the government would come up with a new municipal act after elections and it would be a stringent one. When asked about providing jobs to transpersons in the IT sector, he admitted that this aspect has not been looked into, but would be considered while framing a policy.
